Physiotherapy Services

Manual therapy

The hands-on aspect of physiotherapy! This is where a physical assessment of muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and nerves take place to determine the appropriate treatment techniques. Physiotherapy uses joint and soft tissue mobilizations, soft tissue releases, stretching and traction techniques to name a few.

Cold Laser Therapy

Used to promote tissue healing by increasing circulation and cell growth. Laser is an evidence based treatment for reducing pain and inflammation while improving nerve function. Laser is also effective at repairing bone and soft tissue, speeding up recovery following injury.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture, an evidence-based treatment option, is proven highly effective for reducing pain, decreasing muscle tension and reducing inflammation. Fine, sterile needles are inserted through the skin at very specific locations to help restore balance to the body.

Yoga for Scoliosis Therapy

If you have been diagnosed with Scoliosis most likely you are experiencing pain or stiffness and have not been educated on treatment options. Following a thorough physiotherapy assessment of your spine a curve- specific active program will be developed based on concepts of yoga. These yoga poses and techniques will improve alignment, decrease symptoms, improve posture and overall feeling of wellbeing.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which special cups are placed on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. Benefits include pain relief, decrease muscle spasm and stiffness, decrease inflammation, improvement in blood flow and relaxation.

Kinesio Taping

Medical-grade kinesiotherapy tape helps stabilize joints, re-enforce soft tissues and improve tissue normalcy after an acute injury. An excellent option for returning back to sport or function without the bulkiness of a brace.

Exercise Therapy/Active Recovery

Exercise Therapy simply means treating through the use of prescribed exercises. Active Recovery is similar, calling for low-intensity exercise and movements in order to speed-up the process of returning the body to pre-training/injury levels of function and performance.

Mobile-In- Home Therapy

All of the services offered in our clinic can be provided to you in the comfort of your own home. If you are unable to travel, or simply appreciate the convenience of being treated in your home, home therapy is a great alternative to visiting us in our clinic. We currently offer in-home services to our clients located in Newmarket, Aurora, King City, Nobleton, Kleinburg, Ballantrae, Stouffville North, North Richmond Hill, Schomberg, Tottenham, Beeton, Alliston, Cookstown and Bradford.

Compression Sock Fitting

Compression socks help promote healthy circulation by applying controlled external pressure to the vessels near the skin, gently moving blood and lymphatic fluid towards the heart.  Compression socks and hosiery are manufactured under strict medical and technical specifications, including consistency and durability, to provide a specific level of ankle pressure and graduation of compression.  If you have signs of spider or varicose veins, compression socks may be an option for you.

Private Yoga Instruction

Private or semi- private yoga classes are available either in the clinic studio or in the comfort of your own home. Whether you prefer invigorating Vinyasa Flow, Yin, or Restorative Yoga, book a weekly class usually for 3-6 week in duration. Classes can be made to suit your needs and ability level.

Concussion Management/Testing

We utilize standardize tools to objectively measure and evaluate cognition, balance and coordination. Designed to evaluate readiness for return to sport, this evaluation is particularly effective if the athlete has been evaluated prior to the injury to provide a baseline score. Pre-season assessments are quick and easy and can be completed in 30 minutes in any surrounding- at the arena, in the clinic, and in home settings.
